Asbru Web Content Management 6.0 Released

London, United Kingdom, March 9, 2006 --  Asbru Software has released version 6.0 of the Asbru Web Content Management system designed to provide control and simplicity for non-technical users while maintaining flexibility and power for developers.

Version 6.0 of the Asbru Web Content Management system is a major upgrade with many new features and usability improvements for the core web content management system as well as added flexibility for developers.

Among the new features is the ability to personalize the content delivered to website visitors. Depending on the website visitor’s Internet domain name or web browser language preference settings website visitors can be routed to different web content. The personalization improvements also include the possibility for website visitors to subscribe to various website sections.

Multi-lingual/multi-version content administration has also been improved and now offers better control of different versions of the same content. Workflow processes to notify translators of changes to a master language version have also been added.

Version 6.0 also adds significant improvements to the system’s content listing functionality. There are now a wider range of options to choose from when deciding what, how and when content is to be included on content lists. Among the many new options are the ability for users to include custom data in lists, limit the number of items displayed in lists, present lists in custom tables and display content published within a specified time period.

Other changes to the product include support for management of users through external LDAP directory server administration software/services and support for Dublin Core Metadata. Other custom metadata standards based on different semantics are also supported.

For developers a custom template/script programming API has been added making it easy to integrate content from the web content management system with custom or third-party applications.

The new version also includes extensions to the system’s access control scheme, significant enhancements to search capabilities, functionality to avoid broken links and missing images, and support for quick and easy rebranding of the system.
